The Natchitoches Christmas Festival Parade is one of the most important elements of a day of festivities that brings more than 100,000 visitors to the City of Lights.
Schedule
The Festival of Lights begins November 21 and lasts into the New Year. The Natchitoches (Nack-a-tish) Christmas Festival has been held on the first weekend in December since 1927.
45 Nights of Christmas Lights Continues
“Turn on the Holidays” is an entire day of free family entertainment in downtown Natchitoches that will serve as the official start of the Festival of Lights season celebrating 45 Nights of Christmas Lights. The highlight of the event will be the official turning on of thousands of Christmas lights that illuminate the Natchitoches Historic District through the first week of January.
2009 Holiday Tour of Homes
If the Christmas spirit hasn’t visited your home yet, the Natchitoches Historic Foundation invites you to an event where holiday joy inhabits every dwelling. It is the annual Christmas by Candlelight, a holiday tour of uniquely decorated homes in the Natchitoches, La., area held this year on Dec. 9-19, 2009. Proceeds from the tour benefit the preservation of cultural resources in Natchitoches, La.
